Race And Get Dyed At The Color Run

By Debra Z. Hardeman

People participate in the Color Run each year as they are looking for something other than a normal race. With more than 25 different racing places, people from all over can participate in the race all through the year. Not only is the racer's day made extra colorful and pleasurable, but a local charity will also benefit from the race. People have the ability to volunteer to work in the event or they can run in the race. Participants are sure to have a very colorful day regardless of which way they are participating.

Participants of the race will show up at race time wearing big smiles and white t-shirts. They will set out at the starting line and run as swiftly as they can. In each section, runners are going to have colors thrown on them, and they shouldn't expect to make it to the end of the race with white shirts. Purple, blue, green, pink, and yellow colored corn starch will be thrown at all of the racers to brighten up their dull white shirts. It is suggested that racers wear sunglasses to block out the sun and protect their eyes from flying colors.

People can play a part in the Color Run as a volunteer if they don't want to race or will be unable to. The pigmentation has to get on all of the racers, after all. As the racers run by, volunteers have the chance to throw handfuls of colored corn starch at them. Since they don't get to run in the race, volunteers can get rid of some of their anger and frustrations by hurling colors and having fun instead. Unfortunately, volunteers won't be paid, but they will receive a special t-shirt for their participation. Some of the money from racer sign up is portioned out and contributed to a charity in the local area.

At the finish line of the 5K run, the racers will be a part of the grand finale where they will continue to toss handfuls of colored corn starch at each other. People can make an entire day out of the occasion since food and music will be available once the race is over. People can attend the event even if they were not a member of the race or the crew. The function is available for everyone to attend.

The Color Run is sure to brighten anyone's day and make running a race a fascinating experience. There is bound to be one near you since there are more than 25 various cities in the US participating throughout the year. After being coated from head to toe in bright colors, you can enjoy food and music with your friends and other racers and volunteers.
