Advantages Of Entrusting Your Self-Portrait To A Professional Photography Studio

By Maicel Carroll

If you wish to have a portrait taken, you have two options-go to a professional photography studio, or trust your friend or relative who loves photography. But like in other things, the rule here is pretty basic: you get the value of what you're willing to shell out. Your amateur photographer friend is very creative, let's not argue with that. But unlike a studio photographer, he or she might not be working with several photo shoots a year, and doesn't have a long portfolio of portraits from previous clients. Your friend might be familiar with just a few poses, and could not go beyond various styles like candid, unconventional, fashionable, classic, offbeat, etc.

Your amateur photographer friend is very creative, let us not argue with that. But unlike a professional studio photographer, (s)he might not be working with dozens of photo shoots a year, and doesn't have a long portfolio of portraits from previous clients. Your friend might be familiar with just a few poses, and could not go beyond various styles like candid, unconventional, fashionable, offbeat, classic, etc.

The climate and temperature in a studio is controlled too. If you're on make up or on a special hairdo, you do not have to worry about the weather spoiling your looks. All you have to think about is being yourself while being photographed.

A photography studio has mastery in lighting. They know how to manipulate both natural and artificial lighting regardless whether the photo shoot is held outdoors or in a studio. This takes away horrors like red eye, blurry, and over or under exposed shots that are very common in ordinary digital cameras.

Since a good photographs depend on light, why not just take photos outside? The answer would be yes and no. Yes because nothing gives natural light than the sun. No because good outdoor light has its own time. This means that you have to speed up your photography session just to prepare and be on the perfect spot at the right time. As a result, you will look stiff in the photograph because of your postures. To avoid such situations, it's recommended to avail the services of a photography studio.
