A Sample Wedding Speech Can Help Speakers

By Mona Diaz

Weddings often require people to deliver talks to the guests. The groom, the bride's father, the best man, the maid of honor and some other important people may want to find a sample wedding speech to use as a reference when writing their own. The samples can be researched on the Net and can be found in books, but a speaker can follow some rules and tips to create their own talks.

A speaker should decide on what subject he wants to talk about first. He can talk about how much the bride and groom love each other, the way they met or perhaps he can talk about the path they will walking together. He could choose to talk about challenges that they have faced or will face, like medical problems or a time of separation because of work or some other situation.

The speaker should figure out whether he wishes to have a sentimental feeling in this delivery or if wants to take on a matter-of-fact approach. He could decide that he wants to use humor instead. Or he might want to use different approaches in his delivery.

He can use some one liners or other jokes as an opener to grab the audience members' attention. He might also want to start with a meaningful verse, a quote or even a story with a human interest angle. Creating an good opening will not only grab the listeners' attention, but will help to keep them listening actively through the talk.

A speaker can use a visual aid to help draw in the listeners too. He might want to display an item with significant meaning, such as golf club to represent a bride and groom who love the game. The visual might also be a slide presentation, highlighting pictures of the couple throughout their lives.

Speakers can use a sample wedding speech as an outline. They might choose to use quotes or humor to interest an audience. They might also create visuals to engage the audience.
